TRIANGLE BOARD OF REALTIST • FAIR HOUSING MONTH 2026
More Than a Month: TRIBOR’s Commitment to Fair Housing in the Triangle
April 12–18, 2026 • Triangle Area, NC • TRIBORpresents.com
April is Fair Housing Month — a time to reflect on the principles of the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing. But for the Triangle Board of Realtist (TRIBOR), fair housing is not a once-a-year conversation. It is a year-round commitment.
As a local affiliate of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) — the nation’s oldest and largest minority real estate trade association, founded in 1947 with a mission of democracy in housing — TRIBOR carries forward a legacy of advocacy, equity, and community empowerment right here in the Triangle area of North Carolina.
This April, TRIBOR brings that mission to life through Realtist Week 2026, a seven-day series of events designed to educate, protect, connect, and empower the communities they serve.

Fair Housing Is a Practice, Not Just a Policy
Housing discrimination — whether overt or systemic — remains a real barrier for many families today. Realtist Week 2026 meets that challenge head-on: agents learn safety and self-defense skills, community members engage directly with elected leaders on housing policy, women are centered in wealth-building conversations, and families of all backgrounds gather at a free community event. Every day of the week reflects TRIBOR’s belief that equal housing opportunity must be actively built — not simply declared.
